Glenn Braden opens the Braden Steel Corporation in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and supplies equipment for the booming oil industry.

Braden introduces their first drum type winch and innovates with the first oil soaked safety brake.
1934
PACCAR introduces the CARCO line of winches and other products for use in the logging industry.

1946

Gearmatic opens its doors and pioneers the use of planetary gears and power transmissions
1962
PACCAR purchases Gearmatic in Vancouver B.C., and brings innovative gear technology to the PACCAR group.

1967

Braden introduces the PD10 with a ‘Universal Base’ for versatile mounting and application.
1974
Braden Winch Division expands operations with a 5,000 square feet plant in Okmulgee, Okla.

1977

PACCAR purchases Braden Winch in Broken Arrow, OK; bringing a top-notch brand to the PACCAR family.
1978
Braden consolidates Okmulgee operations into a new 72,000 square feet facility for offices, machine shops, warehouse, fabrication and assembly.

1983

PACCAR brings Braden, Carco and Gearmatic together to complete the PACCAR Winch Division in Broken Arrow, OK.
1987
Driven by marine industry needs, the LB300 was developed to raise and lower offshore lift boats. One LB300 unit could supply up to 375,000 in-lbs. of torque.

1991

The first generation of the Braden and Gearmatic crossline series, the BG6A offered a small form factor using power drum technology with reliable Braden and Gearmatic components.
1992
The WR30-LS was the first hydraulic Braden swing drive to offer a load sense feature for added safety. Developed for the utility industry, the WR30-LS was a reliable, low cost way to prevent operators from overloading lightweight fiberglass crane booms.

2001

PACCAR Winch debuts the Braden CH210A which, offering a new braking system with higher input RPM and oil flow.
2003
The RW300A offered a high line pull in a small package. The unit’s ability to pull up to 40,000 lbs. and size made it a perfect fit for the oil and gas industry.

2009

Developed to meet the demands of oilfield recovery, the HP65A was released with a symmetrical design. This improvement allowed for easier installation and maintenance while keeping all of the Braden power and reliability.

Designed for the utility industry, the BD12A digger drive was engineered for maximum productivity and long life for the toughest applications.

2011

PACCAR Winch expanded distributor relationships in China, bringing innovative and longlasting winch, hoist and drive products to Southeast Asia.

Purpose-built for rigourous use in the forestry industry, the SKW40A is a skidder winch capable of pulling 40,000 lbs (18,140 kg) of cut timber up to 151 ft (43 m) per minute.

The TD50A is a multi-stage gearbox built for track drive applications in tractors, excavators, mining and agricultural equipment.
2014
SB25 hoist was released and coupled with the SB18, specifically for sideboom applications. Their size and reliability make them a perfect fit for sideboom tractors in the oil & gas and utility industries.

2015

The compact and improved HP100B Planetary Winch was introduced for heavy recovery applications. This durable winch pulls loads weighing up 100,000 lbs (45,340 kg) in oilfield and other heavy-duty recovery jobs.
