Jonathan Hoag, Okmulgee Plant Manager for PACCAR Winch, sat down with the OADC (Okmulgee Area Development Corporation)—the lead economic development entity for the city—to discuss our operations, products, global reach, workforce, and history.
BRADEN was started in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1924. The company relocated down the road to Broken Arrow in 1949. Then, in 1974, it expanded operations to include a second plant in Okmulgee.
PACCAR Inc. acquired BRADEN in 1977 and formed the PACCAR Winch Division in 1980. In 1983, the BRADEN, CARCO and Gearmatic brands were merged to leverage synergies among them.
This year, BRADEN celebrates a century of innovation. In addition, it is the 50th anniversary of our manufacturing operations in Okmulgee. Every day, our products engineered for industries including oil and gas, towing and recovery, construction and utilities, ship from this facility to customers all over the world.

“Since 1924, PACCAR Winch has set industry standards where innovation meets tradition…” We are proud of our roots in Oklahoma, the state’s broad pool of exceptional manufacturing talent, and the work ethic of our dedicated people.
Says Hoag: “We really are fortunate to have the workforce that we do, the work ethic we do and we’re just glad to be here and hope the next 50 years will be as good as the first.”
