PACCAR Winch Recognized for Outstanding Commitment to Veteran Employees

November 27, 2023

Broken Arrow, Oklahoma / November 27, 2023 – PACCAR Winch continues to excel as an employer that creates an outstanding work environment for veterans. The company has been recognized both nationally and locally for its dedication to recruiting, developing and celebrating veterans.

On November 8, the U.S. Department of Labor honored PACCAR Winch as 2023 HIRE Vets Platinum Medallion Award recipient. This is the fifth year in a row the company has received a Medallion Award, and the first year to be recognized at the Platinum level. The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes employer efforts to recruit, employ and retain veterans.

Recipients of the 2023 HIRE Vets Medallion Award meet rigorous employment and integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention percentages, veteran resource group, human resources veterans’ initiatives, leadership and tuition assistance programs. In addition, PACCAR Winch was recognized as a Veteran Employer Champion for the third year in a row on October 25 by Tulsa Deputy Mayor Cassia Carr, Community Service Council (CSC), and CSC’s Oklahoma Veteran Alliance. The Veteran Employer Champions program was created 6 years ago with the goal of building an employer network to create programming and peer-to-peer learning for organizations interested in recruiting, hiring and developing veterans in the workplace.

“It is an honor to recognize our 2023 Veteran Employer Champions for the outstanding work they have done in creating veteran-ready organizations in support of Oklahoma’s Veterans and their families,” said Rachel Runfola, Community Service Council’s Interim CEO. “OKVA is privileged to work with our partners in building relationships with employers to educate them on the value of creating veteran-ready cultures for veterans, military members and their families, building community, supports and military pride across the state.”

PACCAR Winch is proud to have 10% of its current employee population as veterans. The company places a priority on assisting and celebrating the men and women who have served our country and are now an important part of the PACCAR Winch team.
